A remission? For how long

I am curious how some people know that they are in remission? Is there a time frame? Are they off all treatments? Does anyone know?

Basically, it's when people feel they have no symptoms whatsoever of IC. No frequency, urgency, or pain.

This can happen without meds (sometimes ICers do go into spontaneous remission for unknown reasons) or with meds. Even if a person is still taking meds (say, Elavil or Elmiron, for example) but they feel no symptoms of IC while on the meds, they can say they are in remission.

A remission can be one day long, or years long. Just depends on the person.
