Has anybody tried this? It is different than other blocks mentioned here. I have male pelvic pain syndrome/IC. They want to try this at the pain clinic I go to. I am a little nervous about this procedure after reading a few articles on the web. Anybody have this procedure done?? I know it can be dangerous because of the placement of the needle. thanks for any feedback

Cedar,
I would ask the doctor how many he has given and over what period of time and even where he was educated/trained.

Were you asleep for this block? Did it work? I am only asking now so long after your procedure becasue I am trying to figure out the different blocks my paindoc do epidurals with needles where you are not asleep, but sometimes sedated/ and given lidocane. But I have nerve blocks done with a small catheder and you must be a sleep for these and if placemnt is done improperly yes it can be fatal...you need to know you doc had experience. Is that more like what you had?

I actually never had the procedure done. I am starting to feel much better now on my own. The only meds. I'm taking are Neurontin and an occasional Diazepam. needles down there scare me, especially since I'm a male!!

Glad to hear you are doing so well, and hey just because I am a girl doesn't mean the needles do not scare me. :) So glad you are doing well, keep posting though it is great to hear from people who have it under control!
