I've been getting migraine headaches lately. I used to have them as a teenager and my dr thinks that the cya is triggering them again. I'm taking topamax to prevent, maxalt to help and tylenol to help with pain. Just wanted to know if anyone else is getting headaches?

Do you get nauseous with your migraines? I have been getting more but I really think mine are stress related. My neurologist was able to prescribe a phenergan gel that you rub on your wrist to tame the nausea. It has to be purchased from a pharmacy that compounds but it is wonderful. It does not have the side effect of drowsiness like the phenergan tablet and has been a life saver on more than one occasion. Hope you feel better.

I'm so sorry you are getting migraines :( I hope they go away soon.

I'm not doing so well on this dose of CyA - going to the doc this week to see if I can go on a higher dose and see if that helps.

Blessings,
Lori

I thought it might be stress related too but i wanted to know if others had them. I've been vomitting but the compazine seems to help with that. I'm almost off of my dad's insurance because of my age so I need to look into being put on as a disabled dependant. Someone told my mom that I could got on my borthers military insurance but my borther is a jerk and won't ask.
Hope you're doing well. Other than the headaches I'm ok

Kristin, as far as I know, the only way you could get on your brother's military healthplan, would be to be declared his dependent. That means he would have to show that he provides the majority of support for you - that you are living in his home, he's paying for your meals, etc. You would have to get an ID card showing you are his dependent, but that would be the least of the troubles.

Basically you would have to be his "child" in order to get onto the military healthcare system. Not sure if you'd really want that or if he would....

I hope that something works out for you soon as far as health insurance, and I hope the migraines go away and never come back.

Blessings,
Lori

Hi Kristin,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having migraines. I had my first ever migraine this summer - a very mild one - right before my period. I had some slight visual disturbances and then about an hour later a crashing headache but I was able to resolve it well enough with tylenol and sleep it off. My sister has a terrible history of menstrual migraines so I chalked it up to that and didn't think about cyclosporine. Thankfully I have not had another since.

Lori is right about insurance unfortunately. It is difficult to get placed on someone else'e insurance and it is unlikely you could be placed on your brother's insurance unless you are his full dependent. One of the reasons I've hung in there with my job is to keep my much-needed insurance. I could get it through my husband but his plan is not nearly as good as mine and is much more expensive.
