this is for what it's worth....called my husband's aunt for some support since she has ic -diagnosed about 3-4 yrs ago. [ right around menopause] Her symptoms were typical ic ones especially nite time voiding 20+ times, burning, urgency and also painful intercourse. She did the diet, helped some...did Elmiron for one year that helped a little bit (2pills2x/day)then one day while talking with the gyn nurse (she suggested my aunt try the es-ring(estrogen) lowest dose. Well, she did and noticed a difference in 2wks, in a month felt almost normal ---now feels absolutely great has no diet restrictions-there is the added risk of increased breast cancer with this estrogen ring however....just thought I would share her story-i don't have any other details but hope this is worth sharing:idea:

Is your aunt still using the estrogen ring? I'm thinking about asking my Dr. for it. Is there anybody else out there that has used it for IC?
It really sounds like it's worth trying!
