This is my first pregnancy and it has been some of the worst times of my life...Pregnancy is supposed to be a time to enjoy life and enjoy the experience but with ic it is miserable it feels like everything below my waist is on fire most of the time...almost over though..wondering how the birth experience effects ic??

I had a normal birth with my son 21 years ago...I had also had IC for 19 years by then......the IC was there the whole time and afterwards and continued to stay with me another 21 years until my bladder removal 9 months ago....I had an epidural after 9 hours of labor and I don't think I felt my bladder until the drug wore off...I remember telling the dr I had IC and they would help me to the bathroom every hour so I could pee 5 -6 drops..ahahhaha

I had 2 pregnancies and deliveries with IC. I too was worried about having to pee a lot during labor, but for some reason I did not have to! I did not have IV's though, both times I did it totally naturally. I had no drugs, no IV's etc. I just labored and gave birth, granted I was lucky to have fast labors and easy deliveries, but I think becuase I was not drinking fluids or had IV's I was most likely fairly dry. I did have to pee LOTS right after. I almost think my bladder shut down so I could not have to be bothered during it,lol. Really I was better during both pregnancies as well as afterwardds ubntil I stopped nursing my babies. Once they were weaned my IC got really bad again. Judith
