He's not even back to work yet because he's continued to have complications. He had to go back in the hospital a few weeks ago to have the entire incision re-opened so that it would heal the right way, minus the crazy 'tunnels' that were hindering his healing.

Things are still going good with us, but I have to admit he's tired of being home, and I'm about ready for him to go back to work LOL! Doesn't mean I love him any less, it just means I'm ready to SEE a little less of him!! :lmao:

I'm still having problems with my bladder, of course, and the myriad of other aches, pains, and screwed up lab tests. Still hanging in there but I sleep WAY too much because when I'm awake it just hurts too much....at least being asleep I dont feel the pain all over my entire body. Lots of joint pains, elbows, knees, etc, and still no definitive answer on the lupus question....so who knows?!?!?

I'm hoping to get a job when all this is over with the home health company that comes out here to change the wound vac dressing a couple times a week. The supervisor and the regular nurse both told me it didnt matter how long it'd been since I'd worked, that they saw how fast I learned, and knew that I was a smart nurse....so, we shall see. I can work prn and take as many or as few patients a week as I want to. The nurse that comes to see us has major back problems and takes oxycontin, so there IS hope out there for me.

Love to you all, and I still miss you guys. Not even gonna say I'm going to be online more, cuz I just can't promise that yet!!

Hugs, Sandy

Hi Sandy,

I'm glad to hear Tom is improving, although perhaps not as quickly as either of you would like. I know those major abdominal surgeries can take time to heal completely. My MIL had her gallbladder removed over two years ago and apparently the surgeon botched the job. She ended up with internal bleeding and major adhesions (her insides were an absolute mess, poor thing) and had to have more surgery to correct it. I know her recovery took quite a while but she is doing well now, thank God. I'll keep Tom in my prayers that he continues to recover well.

I'm sorry to hear you're still having so much pain. :( Is there nothing your doctors can do for you? I'm glad to hear there's a possible job opportunity for you if you want it. And the work sounds like it's flexible which would be great, given your health right now. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Hope to hear from you soon! Hang in there and take care of yourself too! :grouphug:

Sandy...So good to hear from you. You have been on my mind, lately. Sorry Tom is taking such a long time to heal up. It is good that you have had this time to help him, but gosh...enough is enough. Time for him to get back to work!!! After all, isn't that why we keep them around? :lmao:

I'm glad to hear from you. I thought for sure Tom would be all recovered by now. I'm sorry to hear that he's not. Hopefully there won't be any more complications from here on out!

Very nice to see you back on the boards if only for a short while.:hi: ..those darn complications are a pain for sure...but, soon they will all be just a memory..I kept telling myself " This too shall pass and be nothing but a memory'..it took 8 months but the new bladder was totally worth it...I hope Tom is all better very soon, for your sake..:lmao: .hahaa
