I have had 2 sessions of PT for PFD and I am so much worse than when I went in. I have been on vicodin in bed for the whole weekend since my last visit. Is this normal?

My 2nd visit was also a lot more painful. The 1st one they go easy on you. Then the second they really go to town!! She told me I would be feeling it for a few days after, so I expected it. The visits for me got a easier as we went along. Hope you feel better tomorrow.
PT can make you worse at first, but days of pain may be out of line. There are many PTs in the pelvic pain field who have had a weekend or two week training course... Please make sure your doctor is supervising the process and feel free to call him/her with any questions. After, more than a year of PT in my past, I have come to the conclusion that the patient's doctor should be supervising and directing what the PT is doing. There are very few pelvic pain PTs with advanced experience and with a successful record behind them. We all need to be careful on who we hire as our PTs and know how to interview one.

I've had five sessions of external pelvic work and have had severe back and hip pain since. My PT has been on vacation for two weeks, and it still hurts. We haven't gone internal yet. I think I may need acupuncture or PT for my hip. My urogyno did an internal exam and I had urine leakage afterward, which concerns me for internal PT work.

When I did PT, afterwards she would always put these big heating pads on me. I would lay on one and then she would put one over my belly. It would make me feel SO much better. Has your physcial therapist done this? If not, maybe you could suggest it if she has them. I would just lie there and listen to soothing music with the lights dimmed for about fifteen minutes before I left. I can't tell you how much this helped me!!
I think it would depend on what was causing the constipation. If it was pelvic foor dysfunction or muscle related perhaps PT would help. I think your doctor and PT would have to determine. Dr. Moldwin's book is great speaking about PFD you might read more on it there. His book is like a reference manual, sometimes we can miss facts even though we have read it once.
