I can't seem to lose anymore then just those 2 little pounds. No matter how hard I try so I've decided to quit the birth control. The yasmin wasn't suppose to put weight on but it seems to be doing that. I feel like I weigh 400 pounds and my cloths are getting to where none will fit. By stopping it, it means having to go through that wonderful time each month and more pain but I can't stand being fat anymore. :shake:

I know you just started on an antidepressant, wellbutrin? In the past, (pre-IC) I had wonderful surprsie side effect of absolutely no menstrual pain or PMS while on Prozac. Since then I've heard that antidepressants are often prescribed just for this! Hopefully it will help you with your symptoms during that time of the month, too! :)

I would not be so quick to blame Yasmin BC pill for weight gain. It is very well known that anti-depressants can cause weight gain, and Elavil so states in all medication inserts. Weight gain is usally caused by a cortisol and adrenal problem, and can be caused by progesterone (not in your case as you are on Yasmin). If your thyroid hormones are fine, then check out your other medications side effects.

Could it just be the IC and lack of exercise that caused weight gain? Prior to finding out I had IC and the pain was so bad, I could hardly walk much less exercise...I gained 14 pounds in a month.

Just curious...Sassy
