Hello Everybody,

I have resisted for 3 years from taking HRT but finally gave in. The result...no more spasming urethra, very little to no burning, no hot flashes and I am sleeping!! Is this my magic pill? I have my fingers crossed. I have only been taking them for 4 weeks.

This past year has been the most difficult of my life medically because of the unrelenting urethral burning, spasms, general ache of the bladder area. I still have the discomfort of dyesthetic vulvodynia but cope with it by using EMLA cream that numbs for hours. You cannot use it on the mucous membrane area but anywhere there is pubic hair I use it. I have applied it daily for over 6 years with no skin irritation issues. I buy it from a Canadian Pharmacy (does not require a perscription there) and have it delivered to my door. I use a 30mg tube, a cream, about every two weeks. It is costly at $30 per tube but so well worth it and I order about 10 at a time.

Hope this helps others
Jean

I checked this out since I do use EMLA for hair removal-ouch. I always had a prescription. I found the Canadian websites to "require" an Rx as well...can you be more specific and tell me where you order this?

I just checked the Canadian pharmacy where we purchase medications and their price for EMLA is considerably less at $22.50, but they do require a prescription for any medication we order that requires a prescription in the USA. If your doctor will write a prescription for you, it will save you some money.

Hello,

I use Canadapharmacy.com and just received 10 tubes this week at a cost of Approx 29.00 per tube. They did not require a script from me but I did have to talk with a representative. It was no problem this time but maybe in the future it will be. I did have my doctor here provide a one time script because I thought I would run out before my shipment arrived and the generic cost at Walgreen's was $53.00!!
Hope this helps you.
P.S. My doctor does not care how much I use as long as I get relief.

Thanks Donna and Jean!:)

Good to know on both versions. I haven't bothered to get an Rx for so long, just seems that with so many other meds and issues, it gets lost in the confusion.

I am back on pain meds for a back injury, so it seems to help out with electrolysis too, but I hope for that to be resolved soon.

I will check out the pharmacy jean and see if it works, if not I will try Donna's method, I haven't used Canada pharmacy's before...will check out my co-pay first.
