Need advice...lost script...dont know what to do

Okay, here is what is going on. I went to the pain clinic last Friday. I take Methadone 1 to 2 times aday. I can take up to 3, but I try to only take it when I have to. Anyway, I still had some so I did not take the script in right away as I normally do. The doctors office was running very late I had to leave in a hurry to get my kids from school. I took the paper thay handed me folded it up and off I went in a hurry to make it to the bus stop in time. Well, It has now been a week I went to get my scipt and it was not where I thought it should be. In my purse I found the reciept for paying my copay, but no script. I have enough medicine that as long as my pain stays the same and nothing wacky happens I will be okay until my next appt with what I had left.

The thing I am freaking out about it what to do. I thought I would call the pain clinic on Tuesday when they open up again, and tell them I cant find it to make sure that they gave it to me and not just the receipt. (I am hoping mabe I ran out to fast and did'nt recieve it ) That maybe they only gave me the reciept. My main worry is that if I lost the script they would not refill me anymore. My pain has been managed pretty well for 5 months now if they discontinue me from seeing them I dont know what I will do. I went 2 years batteling this pain I cant go through it alone again. I hope I am making a mountain out nothing, but this is scarry. I also dont want them to think badly of me. I am not asking for more meds if this is my fault I understand and I will deal with it until my next apt. I know that on the agreement you have to sign that if any meds get stolen your supposed to call the police. I dont know if that is the case here it is the script and not the meds themselves.

I am sorry this is so long, I am really upset about this. Can anyone give me some advice on what I should do. I have looked all over my house, but I am going to do it again tomorrow. Hopefully on a night sleep maybe I am missing it because I am so upset. I am also going to search my car when it is day light again. I want to find it so I know it has not gotten into anyone elses hands. Okay I am done now. If anyone has any suggestion, I would greatly appreciate it.

Be honest...tell them just how you told us....that's what I would do...

Go through your purse real good.Check all possible pocket areas! Check your car in the morning! If someone found it in the parking lot and was honest to turn it in, you would think the clinic would call you. I might call a few pharmacies and ask if anyone has filled that script.?? If someone gets it filled, they will have to show their ID. If the clinic found it, maybe they put it in your file. Maybe they didn't give it to you! (Just some thoughts!) I'm sorry this happened to you! Loosing our scripts and having our meds stolen is something we always worry about. I know how people taking meds for pain management get "labeled." It's not fair!!

I hope you find it, but if you don't, I think you should call the pain clinic. They will know what to do. I have a tendency to stuff things in my pockets when I'm in a hurry --- any chance you did that?

Hope you found your script. I had the same situation a few days ago. Went to the clinic on Thursday, put the script in my purse and left their office, since I had enough to last a few days, didn't fill it, but when I went to look for it, it was gone, my husband and I empty my purse twice (we finally found it, it was stuck in a book! Thank goodness for small favors. So, if you looked everywhere and I mean everywhere, then call and explain the situation, I'm sure they will call your medicine in for you.
