Hi, My IC right now is constant pain, pressure, frequency at all times with no relief. I really want to lose my baby weight. I am wondering if anyone has any advice. I go to the gym with my husband at times and just cannot do as much as it makes the pain so much worse! I do the weight machines and use the recumbant bike (so the seat is bucket-like and doesnt hurt as much). It is so frustrating. Even the bike is jostling the bladder around a bit. Not to mention the constant burning from the Vulvodynia! I am trying so hard to live as normal of a life as possible. Is there anything that I am missing to try there that can help with weight loss? It seems the reat of the cardio is out because the bouncing around hurts so much. Ann

walking is always good choice since it's low impact on your bladder.
Also if you like swimming, swimming is another option. I heard water aerobic is just as effective as the regular aerobic.

Thanks for your reply. What about the chemicals in the pool? I have vulvodynia also and it feels like my crotch is constantly on fire! That is a big concern of mine. Would it be more of an irritant? I do some walking every now and then with pain pills taken because that is extremely painful too. I feel like I just can't win! Ann

I have thought of yoga but isn't that more for relaxation than weight loss? I used to do pilates but now anything with the stomach hurts way too much! It's all connected with that whole area where the bladder pain comes from. I hate it cause my stomach is so distended since having the baby. I think the inflammation has swelled it too. Ann

Your symptoms sound a lot like mine. I can't work out either. Did you have IC before you got pregnant? I'm 26 and newly married. My husband and I really want to have kids, but I don't know if I can go through pregnancy with the IC. I'd like to know about your experience with it. Good luck on finding a work out that works!
I had an elmiron insillation yesterday and it seemed to help the pain a bit. I'm going to have treatments twice a week. Have you tried that?
