Antihistamines?

I have had mild allergies my whole life and have been reading the postings here in the antihistamines section. I have never tried anything other than allegra and benadryl. I think my urologist is out of his depth with me and doesn't know quite what to do. I have been on elmiron for about 5 months and enablex for almost a year. I recently started seeing a pain management doc and he put me on lyrica. The lyrica has helped with my sharp pains, but I don't want to be on it forever and have already noticed weight gain (boo!). Are antihistimes a staple of IC care that I am missing? Do they seem to be helping most of you?

My Dr is like yours -- I've either asked to try something or my gyn has stepped in with a new med. The last med being Atrax. I've been taking it for about 2 weeks (25 mg) along with Elavil (12.5 mg). I've been cutting them both in 1/2 due to the fact that I can't wake-up and have "major" decreased energy at full strength. I've been taking the Elavil for about a month and I have noticed a difference in pain mngmt. (although not tonight as I have been up the entire night with pain--how I'll make it throught the day I don't know) Not sure if it's one or the other or the combo between the two "or" a fluke. I'm just going to keep taking them to see what happens. I guess that's what we all do.

HI ALL

as most of you know i had a UTI..I get an allergic reaction to Augmentin..and Cipro so Dr put me on Bactrim DS..or the Generic form of..

well qhen Maddy gets a reaction from any drug its AFTER shes stopped taking it..

well I stopped taking the bactri Tuesday..By Tuesday i had Hives.. on the inside of my arms..by TODAY MOST of my body had this hive..or rash :(

Dr wouldnt allow me to take any thing..Im type 2 diabetic..untill he was sure what i had..so went in to see him

he said with out a doubt i was having an allergic reaction to the drug ;(

he said i can take Zyrtec..and Zantac..

the zyrtec has helped me int he past ..he says the antacid..will help me to egt rid of these hives/rash SOONER

some how the meds ..i think he meant are inmy tummy and the antacid helps..

has nay 1 ever had either of those to Z drugs bother their bladder?
