I am in a flare up that I can't get under control. I am getting so discouraged. I have gone to the doctors for about 4 weeks now and had instills of Heprin. They use to help and now they don't seem to be helping. I tried the Activated Querctin and I thought it was a miracle drug. My doctor said not to take that because it has vitamin c in it but to find one that dosen't have the C. I did and it work for a while and now nothing is working. I am getting so depressed and my anxiety is up there also. WHy do my flarre ups last so long? Please help, I will try almost anything.

for me, it depends on what flared me. If it was food.... a day or 2 if I flush w/ lots of water. If it's allergy or stress, no telling. I am really sorry you are having such a hard time w/ your IC. I hope you find the right trmt soon. Do you have anything for pain?

I don't have anything specific for pain. I have the pryridium and have tried the Querctin and baking soda. Also someone suggested 4 tums at a time. They all worked at first but nothing seems to be working now. My anxiety is so high I am sure I am making it worse. What do you suggest for pain?

Thank you so much for your feedback. It really helps.

I can't really suggest anything for pain. Everyone is different. I would suggest talking to your Dr about it. if they do not feel comfortable giving you pain medication, than ask for a referral to a pain clinic. Alot of us can not function w/o some sort of pain medication. I take a time release medication but I have been battling IC for over 10 years so I have taken a lot of narcotics. The occasional lortab or ultram no longer helps me. I also do the home instillations every single day.
