View Full Version : Had a miracle yesterday afternoon and night

Just wanted to share, a miracle happened for me yesterday afternoon and evening. After half the day being spent in a flare (actually the last two weeks have been a flare) I suddenly got much better. It's like the pain just lifted. It was so odd and so wonderful.
I slept last night without any pain meds at all, and the best thing of all, was that I slept 8 hours through without waking up even once to void. And when I woke up in the morning, I just had the normal, morning "gotta go" feelings instead of the usual bladder irritation.
Last night was the best night I have had in many years, and truly a miracle for me.
So today, I have hope again that perhaps the CyA will work for me. I know that flares will come again - perhaps I will always have flares - but I have hope, because of last night and today, that there will be good days, and I hope so much that the good days will outnumber the bad days, and maybe there won't be bad days anymore.
I have hope today = today is a wonderful, happy day for me!
Blessings, wishing everyone a pain-free day,
Lori

Thank you guys! I just went for a walk today, to celebrate. I'm out of breath, now! I'm really out of shape - if I get this IC stuff under control, I am really going to hit the gym and work out and use the elliptical trainer until I'm healthy again!
Blessings,

Thanks, everyone, still doing really well (better than I have been doing) so I'm really glad! I'm thinking that maybe this will work for me - I am sure I will still have some flares for a few months probably, but I'm hoping that this is a sign that the CyA will work for me...I haven't had such good days in years...
Blessings,
Lori

Thanks everyone! Had some bladder irritation last night, but only had to take half an Ultram - it wasn't too bad. No pain this morning. Might have been because I had those hot dogs yesterday - those are really no-no foods for me because of the nitrates or whatever that is in the meat.
Blessings,
Lori

That is so wonderful. Once or twice a year I suddenly get a day like that for no reason that I've ever been able to determine and it's wonderful beyond words. At least yours may be related to the Cyclosporine so I'm hoping yours will continue!!

Another good day today - better than usual - am going to take 1/2 an Ultram tonight though because last night I had a bit of frequency (went potty several times at night, waking up too often) and I would rather sleep all the way through, LOL.
But I do think I am getting better, it sure seems that way to me anyways.
Each day that I'm better, I get more and more hopeful that this might work for me after all.
Thanks everyone so much for your support and good wishes, I sure do appreciate them. I know you guys know I've sure been trying a lot of things for my IC, and nothing so far has really worked for me...so...keeping my fingers crossed on this.
Blessings,
Lori
That's great!
Can you tell me what side effects you've experienced?

ICEL-
We all get different side effects. I had mouth sores, vomitting, nausea, hot flashes, exhaustion and needing lot of sleep. Ther may have been more but that's all I can remember. Look at the CyA posts to see our progress. ICLORI,Bozema and IcyAngel23 (me) have done it all around the same time. We created this forum for those ICers who needed other options. Take care. Let me know if you have no questions. YOu can PM if you want.

Just checking in - still continuing to do well. Some nights I need Ultram, and some nights I don't. I feel as if I'm slowly getting better and better.
I'm still having a bit of side effects I think from the CyA, though. Today at the gym I felt weak and tired, just couldn't do my workout very well...I'm just more tired than usual, really. I'm sure this will pass within a few more weeks.
Hope everyone else is doing well.
Blessings,
Lori

Hi Lori, hope you are still doing good. I gave up on the Cytotec, I started getting A LOT worse so two days later, felt "normal" lol if thats the word for it ;)

Had a short (2-day) flare recently that was really bad and annoying, but the last couple of days have been pretty good. Didn't need Ultram last night, which was good.
It's still kind of back and forth. Still trying to make up my mind if this is helping me or not. Basically I probably won't think it's helping me until I no longer have flares, LOL. Well, I think that I'm having more good days than I used to. I have started a symptom diary recently to kind of try to keep track of it.
I hope you will get better soon...hopefully some remedy will work!
Blessings,
Lori

Hi Lori, I hope the flare was "just one of those things". Really would be great if this helps you out. Shoot, I'd take somewhat better over what I felt all summer ;)
I am doing better, change of one of my meds per my uro and I tell ya, I feel so much better. I know its the meds and I gotta stay on em, but I'll take feeling better! Good luck w/this med and keep me posted ok? :D

Well I was on vacation for the past two weeks and now I'm paying for it. I went to SAn Diego which was so fun and then to IN for a wedding. I'm very tired today and antsy. I get all weird like my body won't co-operate with my mind. SO just having a bad week and I know I partied to hard the past two weeks. Glad to hear everyone is doing fine with CyA. IT is just a battle everyday we face and this way we don;t have to face it alone. Take care

Have you tried Prosed DS atropine free? It takes away all the pain for me and I don't get up at night at all and it has relieved all the feelings of frequent urination. The only other thing I take is clonazapem one at night for tinitus but I think it also helps the spasms.

Is Prosed something like pyridium? I know pyridium can't be taken long-term...
Hey, Kristin, good to see you back, I sure am glad that you had a good time on your vacation! :) I'm sorry that you are flaring a bit (is that what you mean by your body paying for the vacation?) I hope the flare goes away soon.
I'm having some bladder irritation tonight again - this will be one of the nights I will need Ultram I'm afraid...
Blessings,
Lori
