Is there anyone who experienced with the IC after pregnancy a problem with chronic UTI's also? Before I had a baby I only got a UTI if I was cathed. Now my baby is a year old and I have gotten several UTI's. More than normal. I just found out I have one now. Does anyone know why this could be? I've heard you are more prone to them while pregnant but I didn't know this could be a problem after pregnancy. Ann

Ann,
I wish I could tell you what was causing your UTI's I've been sent to sp. after sp. trying to find out where my is coming from, but Know one can figure out the puzzle. At first we thought it was because I do installments at home one to four times a day (with Dr's approval) so we decided to stop that. Hoping we found the answer NOPE. Still a UTI with- in just a few weeks. We where hoping when I had my Hy. (i was boarder line cancer) this would hopefully slow them down if not stop them. the reason we thought this was because i was getting them a week before my peroid then suffering with them threw out my peroid until the end. I've changed the clothes I was waring, we tried different soaps, putting me on a low dose of anti. still nope nothing. They just refuse to leave me alone. I was also this way when i was preg. with all three of my children. I was in the hosp. fourteen times with my first baby, ten times with the second, and four or five times with my last child.
UTI's does make IC a lot wrose. I know this for a fact. Most people are happy to know its just a UTI because it can be taken care of, but as many as I have. lets say I stay unhappy to know its just another UTI. these UTI's are killing my bladder! Lord knows they are so very very painful.
I wish I could give you a better answer, but sadly I don't have none of my own.
If you haven't already tried a low dose of anti. at night before bed time to see if this will help you get yours under control. You may want to start there. Talk with your uro. if you don't always see the same uro. try to say with one. be open, and honest with him/she. the better one Dr gets to know you the better they can help you get all of these problems under control.
I wish you tons of luck. Please if you run a cross any answers to this UTI recuring problem please drop me a PM to let me know what you found out.
sending you hugs and prayers
rhonda
