Cysto and Hydro in Males...

Just browsing the forums, have any males had this procedure done recently...I would like to get it done if I can convince my urologist that it is not just stress and anxiety causing my symptoms....

I had it done yesterday. Just make sure your uro uses a flexible cystoscope and not a rigid one. When he does the hydro it might sting for a while but keep thinking happy thoughts. The post-procedure pain can be quite painful but it will go away quickly. (I had to sit in my uro's waiting room for half an hour before I could get up and walk.) I also still have short stinging pains while urinating but it is diminishing.

Had the procedure done today at the Urologists office, I think that he saw the anxiety in my eye....after quitting smoking about 1 month ago I have been nervous and very anxious, I guess it is a common thing to hang around for a while...

Anyways, they injected some type of numbing gel, and then he proceeded about 10 minutes later...had the flexible scope...looked in the bladder,, a little weird when they fill you with water, but not bad...checked the bladder, looked good, nothing there, prostate was good and urethra was good...:smile tee

After a CT Scan, colonoscopy, gastroscopy, multilple x-rays, multiple blood work...and now this test I think that I have convinced myself there is nothing wrong:) ...well other than the anxiety from quitting smoking...it is amazing I used to be so laid back and relaxed until 5 weeks ago when I quit...I refuse to smoke again, just have to deal with this anxiety issue and negative thinking....

I have had the hydro done about 8 times. It puts my IC into remission. It requires you to go into the hospital and be put under and causes you to hurt a lot more for about 2 weeks. But since it has put my IC into remission it is worth it. The last one I had done in June didn't work but I am going to try another one in September.
