I found a pattern for a very pretty afghan. It has bows and popcorn bubbles on it. It is the worse pattern to follow. I finally figured out how the bow is worked in but I can not get the popcorn stitching to come out right. I always have an extra stitch on the opposite side when I am done with the row. Spent 1 hour on it already. The afghan looks really nice but I might end up in the loonie bin from this one. :loco: :dizzy: Any one have any idea as to what I might be doing wrong?

P.S. It is crocheted

If by chance there is anyone out there :hi: who wants to know what the problem was I will tell. After spending another hour on the saaaaaaaaaaaaaaame 4 rows :headbang: I found that on one of the popcorn bubbles I was not counting the whole 5 stitches for it. That made the extra stitch. :bonk: At least I found it before I ended up going :loco: . THe afghan is starting to look nice like the picture. The rest of it should go smoothly now. I can only hope. ;)

LMAO! I feel your pain! I am not the greatest crocheter, you are waaaaaaay ahead of me, but I can't tell you how frustrated I became on this one "easy" afgan I was making, I was having trouble keeping my tension even and it just kept growing and growing - it was a strip afgan, that you made the strips, then stitched them together. Well, the strips kept getting longer and longer and I had to keep buying more and more yard, lol. But I wouldn't give up! I think it ended up a king sized one, lmao!!!!

Oh and the realization when you are cross stitching that you made a mistake miles back that is throwing off the whole pattern, ugh!!!!

I am so glad you found out what the trouble was!! WOO HOO!!!

Hey Waterflow, how about showing us a picture of your Afghan rug? We would love to see it progressing, especially now that you have worked out your popcorn bubbles. I remember knitting a jumper when my aughter was 3. It had the popcorn bubbles... I had trouble with them too! But it ended up being the prettiest little jumper.
