Ok yall. I know this is one that some of you can empathize with. Since being diagnosed with IC in March, I have put on some weight. I was already bordering the 200 mark which is already not too good (Im 5'9'). I went on Elavil in May. Since then Ive put on 20 pounds! NOT GOOD! Im going to talk to the doc in the morning about getting on something else that will help me sleep.

The reason Im having a fat day is because twice this week Ive been asked if I was expecting. I wish! That would give a good reason why my belly sticks out so far. The first time was at Best Buy on Sunday. A young girl asked if I knew what I was having. I told her I wasnt expecting. She looked shocked. It embarassed my fiance (and me too!). Then the other night at work, one of my older drivers asked if if was expecting. I told him no. He apologized and I could tell he felt really bad. I told him that I was just really happy and that my fiance is a chef (he is).

Now Im like paranoid about what I wear. Im not a fashionista by any means. But now Im so worried about what I wear because I dont want that question asked again.

I live in podunk middle of nowhere..which I like. Except there isnt much as far as exercising available in my little town. There's a gym, but I tried that and it severely bores me. I once told my friends that the only excersise that I enjoy is dancing and sex.:lmao: And thats the truth!

When I was younger I enjoyed line dancing..and I still do. But the old hangout has went from a honkeytonk to a uh..Im not sure what it is now, but it aint country.:cussing: The old gang...well everyone has gotten married and had kids, then the bar changed formats. Now the only place in the area to line dance is on campus (45 min from home) and they only do it for a few hours on Wed night. I try to go on my nights off cause my brother goes too and we enjoy hanging out together...plus I can burn a few calories.

What do yall do that's stimulating and fun at home? I have some ADD tendancies and not a lot of space in my house for equipment. Anything out there that's upbeat and wont kill my knees?

Thanks yall for letting me vent!

you mentioned that you like to dance, right??? Do you own a playsation 2 or X-box??? There is a game called Dance Dance Revolution(DDR for short).
http://www.ddrgame.com/?gclid=CKeVx46o6YYCFQ56UAodRAXYAA

this is a fun game or/workout at home if you don't like going to a gym or gym phobia. if you want to know more about this game, you can ask me.

also another idea is belly dancing:) nowdays, so many women are doing it. You may like it. I think key point here is if you don't enjoy doing it, why would you waste your time, right??? I hope you find something you like/enjoy doing it for workout.:bunny:

I like Richard Simmons tapes. He has several where the excercise is set to music from different decades. I think Denise Austin also has one set to country music.

Depending on how much "bouncing around" you can tolerate, there are various types of yoga that you may enjoy. The best thing about the DVD's that I have are that I do what I am capable of doing and the only equipment that I bought was a beginners kit at Target. You need a yoga mat, 2 blocks and a yoga belt. The whole thing was $29.99! Very affordable!

I would really like to take a class but cannot afford to do so. My physical therapist told me that I had to get 30 min each day of low impact exercise. The yoga has been wonderful as it is good for breathing, relaxation and muscle endurance.

If you can tolerate a mid-to-high impact exercise, then you may want to check into pilates. Again, there isn't much to buy and you can do it at home.

For me the yoga has really been a blessing as I am having severe problems with anxiety and the breathing and relaxation techniques and poses have been beneficial.

Good luck!

Bicycling is a fun activity if you can handle it.
Or maybe power walking?

good luck

oh I so hear you on this one. I have put on so much weight also. I had a baby almost a year ago and I swear I was thinner then I am now. I enjoy walking just can't seem to get the energy to go and do it, also we have steps in my house so I use those also for excersie. When I go out and about for shopping I park far away from the door...don't know how much energy I burn with that :lmao: but it makes me feel better knowing that I didn't park close to the door.

My biggest problem is that Im such a people person and I find excersise to be boring! I work nights when everyone I know works days. So finding a walking buddy is difficult. Im wide awake at 3am:rolleyes:

I saw a bike in the paper that looks nice. Im going to check it out while Im in town tomorrow. Im also thinking about that dancing thing that someone mentioned. My fiance has a gaming system, and I think he would like it if I got into something related to it. Would give us one more thing that we could enjoy doing together.

Finding motivation is really hard. When I was younger I loved running and riding my bike and just being active. It seems that the older I get the more sedentary I get. I wonder why that is?

Thanks yall for your help:hi:
