I take it, my family doctor started me on it in March. Took awhile before it started helping. Works great now. Hope it helps you. (I take 0.125mg. 1 tab every 6 hours- or thats what it says to take) but now that my IBS is "under control", I only take as needed.
Let me know how it works for you.

Yep! :) I take Levsin SL, which is the form of this med that can dissolve in the mouth. It works great for the bowel cramps and spasms I get with my IBS :)

Hope it works as well for you!!!

I just started to take Lesinex 0.375 CR. I have an internal contienet urostomy pouch. I was just diaganosed as having IBS in the pouch. It had been going into spasms so my doctor put me on the Levsinex. So far (keeping my fingers crossed) it has been working! The main side effect I have noticed is terrible dry mouth, but that usually goes away after several hours.

Yeah, Levbid gave me horrible dry mouth as well.

I remember when I was on Ditropan XL; it was the same. It started out as cotton mouth. Then, the dryness seemed to spread all over my body. I felt really thirsty sometimes. Eventually, the dryness spread down to my throat, and it became difficult to swallow dry food. I started taking cough medicine every day, but it didn't help. Eventually, I went to my doctor for what I thought must be strep throat, and that's when I figured out it was the Ditropan.

So, I was very way of Levbid, since it is also in the antispasmodic class. I was told that it could help me with my menstrual pain, since the doctor I was speaking with believed that maybe strong uterine spasms were part of the problem. I was also told it could help my bladder spasms. The doctor seemed like a nice guy, who really wanted to help, so I decided to give it a shot, despite my previous experience. Well, within a few days, I was back to taking cough medicine daily. After a week, I decided to call it quits. Being on Ditropan for a couple months had been enough

Anyway, that's just my experience. Maybe it is more helpful for IBS than for menstrual cramps and bladder spasms. Also, I think I am overly sensetive to the antispasmodic class for some reason.

Hope you will have better luck with this med, July :grouphug:

I used to get headhaches with Levsin or Levbid so I had to stop. I have an appt with a new gastro guy and am wondering what he will give me.
I have taken zelnorm and it has helped but it seems if I sray on it too long or take the 6 mg dosage it makes me worse. If my IBS is sooooo bad that I am "clamped" shut at the end then the zelnorm that is supposed to get things moving for you actually causes me more gas because it has no way to get out. I am thinking that I probably do need an anticholinergic to relax the intestines. I am just hoping I can get one that won't give me migraines like the hyoscomines.
Any thoughts? maybe librax???? anyone try that?
