Everyone who has a photo of them with their profiles look good. You would never know you were sick. So my question is how do you all do it? ;) I would post my photo in my profile but I am afraid it would cause all computers to crash. :lmao:

In my case it's genetic. All the women on my mom's side of the family are "cursed" with looking very healthy even when they are terribly sick. One of my mom's aunts went to the doctor one day complaining about pain and the doctor sent her home because she didn't look sick... later that same day she had a heart attack... No one believed that I was sick so it took a lot longer for me to be diagnosed. Doctors need to see my blood test results etc... to believe what's truly going on under my skin. When I see a new doctor they always question why I'm on so many different medications at such a young age, then they look at the pics from my cystoscopy w/hydrodistention... blood test results etc. and go into complete shock.

LOTS OF MAKEUP! hah, I personally like "bare essentials" foundation, mineral veil, and blush..... it does miracles

(the women in my family actually have a rule never to wear makeup to a doctor's appointment lol)

sacausa---Tell you what. Lets trade curses. Yours is much better then mine. :) Let me tell you about my cures. In high school on the first day if I walked in before the teacher got there the kids thought I was the teacher. :hmm: When I was 22 went shopping with my sister. At the store they had a clown for advertising. He gave me a balloon and told me to “give it to your daughter”. My sister is only 1 year younger then I. :headbang: Then when the IC started all I have heard is how sick I look.
95 % of the time when I get groceries the cashier will ask if I need help getting them out to the car. :dizzy: The big topper is I was driving a new car, which a lot of other people had. I parked in a parking lot, a guy was waving at me and yelling hi. When I got out he said “oops, sorry…I thought you were my son”. :toilet: And you thought you were cursed. :lmao:
I have always bought the cheap-0 make up but guess I will have to let the moths out of my wallet and buy the good stuff. If it makes you look that good maybe it will help me enough so I can at least go out in public without the paper bag on. They're hard to wear during the hot/humid days of summer. The sweat makes the bags krinkle down and the brown spots don't look so good. :bonk:

lol you are too funny! At least you can see humor in your situation!

The absolute best makeup for looking younger is Lancome "photogenic" (probably spelled it wrong)... it's pretty pricy but it does wonders...

People always think I'm older too.... because of my height. I was 5ft10inches tall since the age of 13! So when I use to tell people I'm a freshman, they'd assume a freshman in college... If I said I'm in school, they'd assume graduate school. It was crazy. At the movie theatre they don't believe that I'm a student... people use to not believe that my mom is actually my mom, they'd really think we're sisters.... they'd be like "what? then you must have had her when you were 12!" lol

lol people usually think I'm the teacher because I'm a huge tattletale!

Anyways, at least two safe IC friendly "foods" are considered the best for anti-aging.... blueberries and water!

Where can you buy "Bare Esseentials?"

You can get it from either QVC, Ulta, or Sephora (probably more places but those are the places that I've bought it from)...

with QVC you have to order either online or over the phone
www.qvc.com

Sephora and Ulta both have stores and website you can order it from (it's cheaper at the store because you usually save five bucks in shipping and handling)

www.sephora.com
www.ulta.com

both websites have store locaters

There's an Ulta in these two shopping centers:

The Shops at Greenridge
Greenville, SC 29607

Mt. Pleasant Towne Center
Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464

(I saw you're in South Carolina.... there's no Sephora in South Carolina but there are those two Ultas)

Have one of the employees test the foundation colors on your skin before buying (it looks different on your face than it does in the package)....

oh and if you go to www.ulta.com look at the top right hand side of the page, where it says "advertised specials" ....type in your zipcode, and there's usually a $3.50 off coupon (always nice)

LOL! I like your rule never to wear makeup to a doctor's appointment! I may have to start doing that. Can you imagine the horror if we all posted pics of our bladders? LMAO. Yikes a mundo!

Some of my pictures I definately think I look *sick*.....but the one I have on now, I was just downright HAPPY not to be at work and having a blast at Lake Gaston Memorial Day Weekend with some friends of ours. What fun! I wish I could vacation atleast once a month! It would do wonders for my health.

Sacausa, you are SO pretty honey! Funny that you and your mom are often thought to be sisters. That happens to me and my daughter ALL THE TIME. I look *younger* than I am to everyone else, and she is 17 but looks *older* LOL Most people think she's atleast 21! lol...and people ask me if I gave birth to her when I was 12! LOL.....ehh....not! :lmao:

I'm intriqued by the makeup recommendation and may have to try that out too! Right now I'm wearing this stuff from the drugstore called Physicians Formula and suprisingly it is REALLY GOOD. I was wearing Chanel multivitamin but ran out and picked this stuff up at Walgreens and it wears REALLY well in the humidity and heat. And there is no Talc or chemicals so my face hasn't broken out since I started wearing it. I have a hard time with foundations some of them make me break out like a 14 year old! LOL

hugs,
Kara

How old are you, Kara? In that picture you look like you're in your early twenties, I may have misunderstood your post but it sounded to me like you have a teenage daughter?
