Well, I had my baby 2 months ago and almost immediately afterwards I developed uterine prolapse, a rectocele, and possibly a cystocele (bladder prolapse). I know this isn't related to IC but has anybody else experienced these kinds of problems with their pelvic region? What did you do - physical therapy, surgery, just live with it? I'm only 29 so this really sucks and I'm not sure how I go on living a normal life (exercise, sex?). Please help!

I had surgery for my rectocele and several years later I developed a cystocele and had a second surgery for that. It worked very well for me and neither surgery was bad.

Hi Donna,
Thanks for your response. So, I just saw a wonderful urogynecologist today who did all kinds of measurements, etc. Anyway, he said that if my rectocele becomes too uncomfortable or too much of a burden, he can do a simple surgery on just that. I'm considering it, but very worried about possible side effects (difficulty with intercourse, fistula, and whatnot) and the high possibility of a recurrence anyway. Did you think your surgery was definitely worth the hassle? Do you still worry about a recurring rectocele?
Thanks for your help!
Michelle
