I'm Pregnant!!

I just found out that i am pregnant!! I haven't been to the doctor yet, but the test is positive! Anyway, i stopped all meds even elmiron until i find out if i can take it. It has been 2 days and i am already having bladder pain and can't take my pain meds!! eeek! Has anyone taken elmiron while pregnant? Are there any tips for pain management while your pregnant?

Congrats on your pregnancy. I am 21 weeks pregnant and I am on Elmiron. I stopped taking it during my first trimester but then I started back on it once I reached my second trimester. My doctor said it was a catagory B drug and was as safe as tylonal to take. I would ask your doctor first since all doctors are different on what you can and cant take. I will say that all my ultrasounds and blood work I have had done the baby is completly healthy so I feel comfortable about taking it. I was on Elavil and Atarax before I got pregnant but once I found out I was pregnant I stopped taking that until after I have the baby since that isnt safe to take. I did find out from my doctor that i could take elmiron. i was on elavil too and they said i couldn't take it. i would like to keep from taking the elmiron too but judging by how much pain i am in now, i think i will have to take it.

I know how you feel, I didnt want to take anything either, I felt guilty taking elmiron and it took me a few weeks deciding on whether or not to take it, but I was just so misserable which was putting more stress on me so I decided if the doctor said it was okay to take then I will take it cause I am sure being under so much stress from my wondeful bladder wasnt any good for the baby.
