Southwest Ohio here! Just last week I chatted with someone from your city who is not diagnosed yet but was seeing a uro this week. There seem to be several of us on the recipe exchange thread of the Diet & IC Board.

Any more Buckeyes?

Hi,

I grew up in Northern Ohio. I now live in Northern Kentucky, just across the river from Cincinnati. I guess I still consider myself a Buckeye.

Been a while since this has been an active post, but thought I should go ahead and answer just in case someone's still checking it. I'm from Mansfield, OH, so I'm actually very close to you. Hopefully you're doing well, and feel free to PM me if you want to talk.

Hi Lindsay,
I'm still around the ICN boards. Hope you are doing well. Rob, good to see you're still out there too. Hope you both have found good management techniques for your IC!

I'm meeting with Dr. Tony Buffington at Ohio State today to learn about his exciting IC research. I just started a new position on staff at OSU about a month ago and made contact with him via email due to an article in an oncampus employee newsletter about cats and IC. :) Will post more later!

Hello to you as well MelanieJ! I'm still lurking out here. I'm working with Dr. Woodworth still and we're going to try out an implant early in the year. I'm not completely filled in on the details yet, but it's not the TENS unit. Similar, but not the same he tells me. I'll post to the appropriate board when I get some details to let everyone know how it goes.
I've had it pretty bad for the past year or so. It's basically driving and any time period following driving. The spasms are incredible. He says I'm perfect for what he has in mind, so I'm really looking forward to it.
Hopefully all is going well with you. Congrats on your new position. Dr. Woodworth was talking to me about some research with cats and the adrenal gland. He's taken some blood from me for some studies, but I've never given him a sample during a really bad flare (I have no desire to drive for an hour and a half to give him a blood sample when I'm hurtin' wink ).
Happy Holidays all!
Rob

Hi I'm from Strongsville, Ohio, about 35 miles south of Cleveland. Ooops I posted a message in the Northeastern States, and didn't see OH listed here until now.

I'm in Columbus. Great to hear there are others in this area. I have been looking into pelvic floor therapy. Anyone know of practitioners in this area?

You might contact MelanieJ - she is in that area and I think she has said before that she gets PT or has gotten it.

Hi Jeanne,
Kim's right - I had PFD therapy done with Cathy Konkler of Rehabilitative Associates. Their main office is in Pickerington, but she works out of several other locations, including one on Olentangy River Road near Clintonville (where I live :) ). Her information is listed on the Physician/Physical Therapist listing here on the ICN.

Good luck to you!
Melanie J.

hey melanie,
i was just wondering how your meeting with dr. buffington went. my dad showed me the article about the cats, and i hope it helps with future reseach. i'm from canton oh, about 2 hours from you. i was supposed to be in columbus this summer for an internship, but they weren't going to accomodate my dr appointments, so i may be floating between ohio and michigan. hope you're having a good day!
