My OBGYN has given me the option to try a low progesterone birth control pill that is called Camila 28 day for 6 months. I have not wanted to try it yet because I am thinking about trying to get pregnant in the future and the continuous BCP is what made me inferitle in the first place so I am really reluctant to go back onto it again. I was on a continuous BCP for 3 years and my body forgot how to ovulate so I had to be stimulated to learn to ovulate again and then I had to take fertility injections and then I just spiraled downhill from that point on. So any Camila users out there that can tell me if it made them flare or not???
I may base my decision on what happened to you all.....

I took Camila and had no problems with it. Although I would not base your descion on me, as I am not quite as sensitve to medications like you are. I did get pregnant 6 weeks after I discontinued it, so that part was no problem. (However, I miscarried that time.)
As I understand, it is one of the lowest dosages of hormones of any of the birth control pills. My Dr. picked this one because I was very sensitive to some of the other hormonal combos we had tried. I dont remember the names of the others we went thru, since there were so many. But ultimately, this one worked best for me. The best thing I liked about it was that it really cleared up my skin. I had a problem with acne on my back, but Camilla cleared it right up in about 3 weeks. That was a great bonus. It also seemed to stabilize my mood. I guess hormones really DO have alot to do with the mood!
I have also taken the Deppo Provera shots. You take them every 3 months and have to go to the Ob/Gyn to get them. They worked out to be about the same price as the pill. I liked it because at that time, I was not on daily meds, so I didnt want to have to worry about forgetting it, as we were not ready to concieve at that time. However, I did gain about 15lbs on it, even though I was working out 4 days a week and had a job that required walking and being on my feet all day. So, I am sure it was the shot. I went off it when we were TTC, and it took 7 months to get pregnant. That is when I had Collin.
I went on Camila after I delivered. Of course dont take anything now, since I had to have the total hysterectomy last year.
I hope you find something that works for you. I know that you have alot of problems with your hormones right now, especially when you are ovulating or menstrating. Good luck! Love, Amy

I took Camilla after i had Emma b/c i was breastfeeding and when i stopped taking it i found my IC actually got worse so i am thinking the hormones in it actually helped to level out my IC a bit....
and FYI it is only 80% effective if your NOT breastfeeding....this is what my OBGYN told me when i decided not to go to a higher level of hormone with estrogen in it when i stopped breastfeeding....see your body makes more estrogen when your breastfeeding so you only need progesterone in the birth control pill.....
and FYI i stopped taking it in March of 2006 and we got pregnant (unexpectly) only 2 months later.....if anything it made me ovulate more regualr or something!!!!
if we wern't gonna TTC in the late fall i would have gone back on it b/c i think it helped!

Thank You Erika,
I will keep this in mind. I would like to just get pregnant and have one child in life so I have not decided yet if I will go onto the Camila but I have it sitting here if I ever feel the need to go onto it. This month it's already to late to start it because I am about to ovulate any moment. But I appreiciate the information that it seemed to help you syptoms which is what I am looking for.
Thanks Again,
Kara (I'm often online but not sitting at the computer. Just message me anytime and hopefully when I return I can respond to you and Emma!)
