Well I had my second hydro/cysto on Weds. (today is Monday) the last time I had one was back in December and back then it really was of no help, we'll guess what??? It sure feels as if it didn't do a thing this time either!!!!!!! I am at my wits end here.................I have tried the whole gammit of oral meds, Elmiron, hydroxyzine, amitriptyline, Detrol, Vesicare, none of those seem to make any difference besides the bladder type meds give me SEVERE heartburn and I was already a sufferer of stomach ulcers, and GERD, IBS. etc. before the IC came on now this only makes it 10 times worse. So we quit the oral meds and opted for instills of DMSO w/heparin they really seemed to help only problem was is that I couldn't go longer then a full week without feeling the pain and pressure coming back, we tried to spread it out to 10-12 days and I was in severe pain enuff to go to the E.R. and get some Toradol, my uro felt doing them once a week was ok but I said after all this time (we've been doing them now for over 4 months) I should at least be able to go longer then 1 weeks time, plus I'm afraid of bladder damage if we do this too often.I can deal with the frequent urination it seems to have slowed down on that end but the pain, pressure and bloating is just too much!!!!!!! Does anybody know of any other options there for me to try?
