This weekend, my husband was sitting in our barbecue/picnic spot, which is under an awning on his wood shop. While he was sitting there, a deer jumped over the fence to our pasture and strolled through our yard, within ten feet of him, and headed towards our garden. I'm sending a camera with him to his shop now so he can capture those moments!
And ..... we have a plastic shower curtain hung across the screen door to our pool house so we can close it and not lose heat overnight. The curtain is green and white stripes and a tiny (less than 1" long) bright green frog has set up housekeeping on one of the green stripes. He's a real little cutie, but we can't get a good picture of him because he blends so well with the green stripe.

I also love watching deer and wildlife stroll. The only time I don't like to see them stroll is when on the street in front of my moving car.

We also live in the woods and it is real nice to see the deer. We have so many deer right now wandering through the yard. I have 2 bassetts in the back yard and my male will just sit and bark, but the deer are not afraid of him anymore. The realize he cant get to them. What I really love is right now the does are out with the babies and I love seeing that. My FIL lives right down the road and I think he is cussing them. They have eaten all his garden up and now are getting the peaches off the peach orchid.
I have seen so much more stuff living down here in the last 6 yrs. It is nice and peaceful. I would not move back to the city if someone paid me to.

We also live out in the country and I wouldn't trade it for a big home in the city for nothing in this world! I love watching the deer in the back yard. (we have woods on each side of us and in the back with a creek running threw.
My husband set it up so when I'm sitting at the P.C i can look outside to see the hummingbirds eating at the new feeders. That is so relaxing!
Donna watch out for frogs and the pool they don't mix well together. Exp. if they begin to mate! I didn't open our pool this year for that very reason. They are very hard to get rid of not mention expense's when they invade the pool.

Hey, Rhonda you and I have something incommin we like humming birds hehe. I don't live in the country We live in the city towards the mountains. But where I live I get so many they are fun to watch. I can watch them all day long nonstop :)
We recently bought our first home on a wooded lot, and I have been delighted to see two foxes roam our backyard. I also love the birds, especially cardinals, and to see two little squirrels playing together. We also have some little racoons living under our deck.

Angela,
that is a wonderful shot of the female humming bird.
If you haven't already done this its nice to stand near the feeder really still. They will flutter around you to check you out! As long as your being still they will go about their business eating, playing etc.
once they get use to you you can move a bout without them running away.

I grew up out in the country with lots of deer and other creatures. I live now inside city limits in a neighborhood and still see lots of deer! There are some nice wooded areas near our house, and the deer tend to come out mostly at night. They startle easily, but it is fairly common to see them in front yards nibbling the hedges and grass.

isn't nature wonderful? a lot of times very relaxing to watch!! What a wonderful gift God gave us!!
Rhonda
Yes, I think to feel the presence and love of God all you have to do is to spend some quiet time in nature. His creation really has a way of reconnecting you with God. Animals are really something to marvel at...a good way to find peace and reduce stress.
