I live in Kalamazoo. When you live in Traverse City do you go to Muncy Hospital is that the name? I heard that is a real nice hospital. I have had IC for 16 years. I go to U of Michigan for treatment as the uro's here in Kalamazoo don't really know much at all about IC in general.

I am from Mi.,in betweem Lansing and Jackson. Actually there are alot of girls from Mi. here on these boards. Most are from the detroit area. Glad you found the site, not glad you have IC, but you will learn that its not the end of the world, even though it seems like it at first, it gets better. Hi Vicky: The hospital in Traverse is Munson. Yes, it is a very nice hospital. My Uro is from St. Clair Shores, which is in the metro Detroit area. I have a Gyn. here in Traverse and she is familiar with IC now, I believe because of me. Also at my last appointment, she told me that her brother was diagnosed with IC. I haven't had to go for treatments for about a year now as I have my own biofeedback unit for PFD, and my Uro-Gyn gave me a years worth of prescriptions for my Elmiron. I made the mistake of getting off the Elmiron for about two months. I felt fine until this week. So I started it back up this morning. I hope it starts working fast. <img src="graemlins/lmao.gif" border="0" alt="[lmao]" /> It was great hearing from a fellow western Michigander.

I've heard of Ray Twp., and been to Mt. Clemens!!! I have found the most understanding and supportive people are the ones that have IC, Fibro, and IBS.

Hi everyone, Boy it has been a long time since I have been on this sight. I am from Spring Lake Michigan. I have been in and out of the hospital quite a few times in 2005. I am currently taking elavil, elmiron, atarax, zyrtec-d ,prilosec , darvacet for pain and I have been going to Physical therapy for IC. The therapist goes in and stretches the pelvic floor muscles on both sides. I have to admit the therapy really helps especially for the intercourse pain. My therapist is a miracle worker. I was doing better and then I started on my enulose for my bowl problems. The medicine I mixed with some OJ and put me right back to the razor blade pain when I urinate. I am also using a at home electrotherapy machine 2 times a day. Thank God my insurance covered it because it cost over 2,000.00! I had a full vaginal Hysterectomy Laproscopic assisted and a bladder lift in June. I had some complications with the bladder and had to be catheterized for a week because I couldnt empty my bladder totally. Anyhow I still have the swelly belly from my hyst. and I still every once in a while get that razor blade pain from my bladder. I don't know about u gals but During these cold months I have been getting very depressed about this gosh darn disease! Just when I think I have gone into remission I do something stupid and drink something acidy and whamo I am right back where I started. If anyone knows where I am coming from please email me I would love to hear from u. Thanks for listening.

I was tested and told I have IC in 2004,but I think I have had this condition alot longer just didn't have a name for it then.
I have been to Dr. Ken Peters in Birrmingham,and of course my hometown Dr. Hasan.

Hi all! I'm in Michigan too. I'm just super busy and don't get much time to post on here. I try to come here as often as possible and look at the boards - I just don't always have time to respond on them - sorry. I'm in my last semester of graduate school, I work full time, and am doing an internship. Yes, I know it sounds crazy. And I do all of this with IC. I'm exhausted often and am also dealing with some other health issues (lots of doctors appointments). So, if I don't post on here it's not because I don't care - I just have a whole lot going on.

We had all talked about 2 years ago about getting together. I would love to meet up with some of you. I live in a suburb of Detroit and am willing to meet somewhere when it gets warmer. I'm used to driving a lot and would be willing to meet anywhere that is within a reasonable distance. Lets make this happen this spring - can we? I graduate at the end of April. How does May sound?
