Could I hear from some woman who still have a uterus who are on HRT that are doing well on it and hasn't caused problems for IC. I'm going to Gyno on Monday and need some feedback.

Thanks a bunch!!!:bonk:

I have a uterus, its full of fibroids, but still there. I currently take testosterone 2% cream, Estrace oral 1 mg daily, for the progesterone which I could not tolerate systemically I have a progestin medicated IUD called a Mirena which is also a birth control device as well as HRT. It delivers progestin into the uterine lining directly and does not go systemic. It will stop menstrual bleeding and cork up fibroids dripping. I have no side effects from the IUD at all, but had very bad yeast, and IC flares with progesterone cyclic therapy such as Prometrium 100 mg for 10 days then a bleed.
I consider estrogen both oral and vaginal cream to be very, very important for urinary tract health and keep my serum estrogen level between 130-140.
Hope this helps,
Sammie

Thanks Sammie, my gyno gave me Alesse BCP to try. It has levongestrel, and it seems alright so far, but I'll keep that in mind if this doesn't work out. I haven't had any children, and have been premature menopausal since 35 yrs old. Do you know if a woman who hasn't had children can have the mirena IUD? Thanks.
