Ok, so I did it, I managed to shed 55 pounds. It sounds impossible in such a short amount of time, but I had a LOT of amniotic fluid, more than they had realized. It's all gone BUT my tummy is like...well...jello!!! I am so frustrated! How do you do it with IC? How do you tone up? How do you lose weight that distributed oddly? Like my hips, my butt, man I am a mess. I don't know, it's like the pregnancy weight is gone BUT the damage is done in other areas. Make sense? Help! Ideas??

Makes perfecy sense Jess. I have never gotten rid of the belly and extra flab. Even with years in between my pregnancies. The weight goes but the blah just seems to like it's new home and refuses to leave. You did a great job in such a short time with the weight.:woohoo:

Leslie,

Ugh I know what you mean. The blubber is like "hey, great, some hips, think I'll stick around!" I looked like a mack truck from the back when I was pregnant. Now my hips are still kinda widened (my mom said that will take time but I'm so impatient!) and I can't get rid of the jello.

I thought when I got my stim out I could do more, but I can't, and crunches? Painful!

Jess,
I just look at it like what a gift I got from the blubber. I guess we gotta keep the baggage to get the baby.:smile tee

Breast feeding got my weight off, but that blubbery stomach stayed no matter what I did, especially with a c-section. They cut things down there that leaves you with hardly any muscle tone.

Ugh, well I gotta find something, I am sick of being out of shape. My sister has 2 kids and is as thin as a rail! I look at all my friends who got the cute, tiny little bump during pregnancy...you know, maybe gained 20 pounds during pregnancy and left the hospital in non-maternity clothes!? I hate them LOL.

I know what you mean! I am in the same boat. I have been having a real hard time with the IC since pregnancy and not as active as I wanna be to shed the weight. My son is 10 1/2 months old. I have lost about 50 lbs since but am still about 15 lbs more than I was before pregnancy. I cannot wear my wedding rings anymore (which is weird cause I was wearing them while I was pregnant when I weighed more than I do now). I was absolutely devastated when the jeweler we bought them from wouldn't resize due to the stones on the sides and said they could fall out because of the size difference now. I have this bloated belly and face. I seem to retain water still. I had C section and wonder if that could have something to do with it. But I know what you mean when looking at the other women that lose their weight and look the same right after. Makes me sick! I take the baby for slow paced walks after taking pain pills but I feel so limited with exercise. It is really hard. I think we do just need to give it time though. Think of how much we lost already. More will come off. I think we just have stand stills sometimes before we lose more. Oh, and I have to tell you...your baby in that picture is absolutley breathtakingly beautiful. Hang in there. Ann

Thank you, Ann! :)

It's so frustrating. My friend is pregnant with her 2nd child, and she's got that cute little bump. Me? My hips spread out, my boobs got huge, and my stomach was ridiculously large. Buuuut a lot of it was amniotic fluid. Still! I just want to yell at these girls "get fat like the rest of us, jeez!!!" :) No offense to those with the tiny bumps--you just frustrate us!

I always hated reading the baby magazines and then there'd be an ad for maternity clothes with this model with this itty bitty belly. Grr. Although the other day I found one of my maternity sweaters way down in the laundry pile and held it up to me. It was soooo big--that felt awesome.
