This isn't IC news but it is important for all women at risk of breast cancer. Two research studies presented at this annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research show that women with higher levels of Vitamin D had reduced risk of breast cancer.
Researcher Julia Knight of Mt. Sinair Hospital (Toronto) found that women who participated in outdoor work at any point in life had a 40% reduction in breast cancer risk. Another study by Dr. Cedric Garland of UCSD (San Diego, CA) found that women with higher levels of Vitamin D in blood had a reduced risk of cancer... whereas women with with very low levels of Vitamin were six times more likelly to develop cancer.
