Anyone else here a finger-nail chewer? I've had this rotten habbit since i was very young, and have never been able to break it! It is sooo gross, too! fingernails are dirty, no matter how much you wash your hands. I wish i wouldn't chew them. Thing is, I do it without realizing i'm doing it... it's an awful habbit...WAY WORSE THAN CIGARETTE SMOKING! At least, [I]that[I]! I could quit. It's like I am nervous even when I am sitting and doing nothing, and the way it shows is that I am CHEWING MY NAILS!:shake:

As I read this, I am biting off the top coat on my painted nails. BAD!!!!!!!!!! I know I must wear a rubber band and snap it every time I do that! Grrrrrrrrrr. I don't even know I am doing it.

I used to peal the nail polish off all the time which did a number on the top coat of my nails. Don't wear nail polish anymore. I saw on tv a long time ago where to stop children from biting their nails they put awful tasting stuff on their finger tips. They said it worked.

I Have Been A Picker Forever..I Have Also Been A Recovering Cutter For The Past 7 Years!...As You Can Tell I Have A Lot Of Anxiety!..As A Little Girl 7or 8 My Mom Bought That Nail Polish That Has Tast Deterant In It Whe You TRy To Bite It It Gives You Mouth A Terrible Taste!..I Will Never Forget..I Was A Dancer For 17 Years And I Was At A Dancer Co mpetion When I Was 7 And I Was Bitting My Nails And That AWFUL Taste Got On My Mouth It Was Horrible!, I Will Never Forget!..But I Never Bite My Nails Again!! :lmao:

You know whats worse than chewing your nails, don't you?? Its picking your sores and/or bites on your arms or legs!! gross!! I have done this since I was a little girl, mostly in my sleep! I have mosquito bites that do not heal right, I have tried everything but nothing works, anyone knows of anything for me to try??

Kimi, A recovering cutter!? OMG... that sounds like it was awful! Glad to hear you are recovering:) And, Lily is adorable. I have a pikenise (sp?) that I love very much.. soooo cute!

Mary, sorry I don't know what advise to give you. I tend to "pick" too. Wish I wouldn't do these awful things.. yuck! haha..
