Right after my period stops my IC gets much worse and I use cleocin cream, an antibiotic vaginal cream (like flagyl) which seems to be the only thing that helps my IC. I need to find a doctor who could help me figure out what is really wrong with me. I seem to have a bacterial and hormonal problem making my IC worse. The common cultures that my doctors do here in central Illinois don't turn up anything.
Thanks for any advice! I would be willing to travel if anybody knows of a good doctor who could help me.

Do oral antibiotics not help? Have you tried to request a broth culture?
If someone knows is there a point in the cycle that makes us more vulnerable to infections? I am pretty sure there is just don't remember everything right now.
I hope you find the right path for you to get relief.:grouphug:

Janee, I think somewhere in the antibiotics thread, the older threads, you can find information about some labs that do broth cultures and so on and will work with you. I was thinking that Martha would be a good point of contact, hopefully she will see this thread and PM you.
I hope you feel better soon,
Blessings,
Lori

Thanks for your replies! I have read about broth cultures and thought about having it done. The thing that bothers me about going this route is that I have not heard of any urologist that believes in going this route. I would think that if this was credible that there would be urologists who would be ordering broth cultures and prescribing according to the results.
