Hi everyone,
I was just wondering two things,
1. Does anyone bleed with their ic? and
2. How soon do you feel pain after eating a "no-no" food?

IC patients can have microscopic blood in their urine on occasion... but visible blood in their urine is much rarer and needs a prompt visit to your doctor to discuss.

As to foods... it can be anywhere from 30 minutes to a day or so. But, for most patients, it's usually felt the most that night when they try to sleep.

Lori, I agree with Jill, oftentimes there's microscopic blood in the urine, but visible blood needs to be checked out.
Regarding food - I have problems 3-4 hours later, but I can usually tell right away if I'm going to have trouble.

Thanks for your reply's. I went to urgent care last night and it is another uti. Perhaps I don't have ic, I don't know. Bladder and kidney infections is one of the things that people with my kind of leukemia deal with. The doctor thought perhaps I have a fistula from the rectocele surgery. That would be connected from the rectum to the bladder causing the bladder not to empty correctly. Now the uro I saw is retiring. Should I call a doctor my gyn gave me or call the uro's office I saw and ask to see another doctor in his office? I HATE all of this trouble! Thank you for being there.
