Hey, I'm needing to use an otc yeast med. I usually really flare vulva wise with any of them. Anyone know if the monistat suppositories are any less painful than the cream? I noticed they have only 2 ingredients in them as compared to many ingredients in the cream. Thanks!

Grace I can use the suppository without any problems but other ICers have reported problems with all OTC supplements, you will just have to try and see?

Thanks Sammie, I decided to give boric acid another try, 2 days now and just a mild flare for the most part. I also bought some rephresh(for dryness), I've seen you mention it. It should be okay during a yeast infection shouldn't it? Thanks again, Grace

Grace
I had chronic yeast for many years, and even before I developed IC and vulvodynia, monistat cream and suppositories caused a lot of burning, irritation, and did not take care of the yeast.
I found that clotrimazole (gynelotrimen) worked well for me and didn't cause any additional irritation or burning. It is very soothing for me. I can only find it at Walgreens.
Hope you're feeling better. :)
