Can't seem to make this important decision..

I am having a laproscopic hysterectomy on Monday. I am conflicted over one thing. Do I let them take the cervix??? My doctor seems to think that it will help my IC pain to take the cervix. I don't see how this could be. In addition I do have cervical erosion. Recently I had a pap smear come back abnormal and had to undergo a culposcopy (extremely painful) he said I could run the risk of this happening again even though I believe the initial pap was read incorrectly because I was on my period!! Do any of you have experience with this? I am so worried, I don't want to undergo this proceedure and then still have risidual pain from the cervix.

I don't have any advice for you, but would encourage you to do your research before you make a decision. And go for a second opinion if you aren't feeling confidence in what your doctor is advising.
