I had to go to my rhematologist yesterday. When she went to write out the refills for my scripts, she told me to make sure that I never take Zanaflex and Cipro together. She said that they are counterindicated. She couldnt remember what it does to you if you do it, but she said that you are suppossed to go off the Zanaflex for the entire time that you take the Cipro. I have been on Zanaflex (Tizanadine) for years, and have gotten many bladder infections and UTIs in that time. It is almost a certanty that I have done this. (I even got all meds filled at the same pharmacy, so I dont know why no one ever told me this!) But, just in case this is new information or in case it is news to anyone else on Zanaflex, as it was to me, DONT TAKE THEM TOGETHER!! Hugs to all, Amy

Thanks, Amy! I didn't know this either! I just took a round of Cipro about a month ago & took my Zanaflex with it. Nobody told me that I couldn't take these together.

It wasn't until recently that I was told that I couldn't take lorazepam with Diflucan. I've been taking lorazepam for years & have had many yeast infections which I took Diflucan to treat. I looked it up & yep, can't take those two together!

This just goes to show that we can't rely on doctors or pharmacists to catch this! Always do your own research on the meds that you are prescribed!
