Just diagnosed and I need to vent. Not happy. Just want to scream. Angry. Depressed. Received a packet with very depressing information from uro. List of foods to avoid. After reading was looking for foods I can have. Mostly I have pelvic pain. Also have IBS.
Just went on vacaton with family car ride was difficult. In amusement park finding restrooms and hoping there was no line. Eating out the worst. :flower: Sad sad sad angry angry angry. Help.

Hi Linda,
I am so sorry you have this horrible disease! But please know that you are not alone. Here is a link that you may find helpful: http://www.ic-network.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27629
It is full of information that is so very useful!
Hang in there, things will get easier as time goes on. I know I felt so angry and sad when I was first diagnosed, it is so normal. :grouphug:
Hugs,
Jess
There is a definitely a rollercoaster of emotion when you are first diagnosed... :( The good news is that the more you learn about IC and its treatment a lot of that emotional "stuff" does ease. Especially with good support from other ICers.
Also, most people with IC really do go on to find treatments that help ease their symptoms. I've been 95% or more symptom free for a few years now thanks to the medications I take. I live life like I did before I developed IC.
Hang in there, OK? :kissing:

I must agree that you run the gamut of emotions when you are diagnosed. Denial. Anger. Frustration. More anger. Grief. Sense of disbelief. Confusion. Kim and Jess are right---there is a plethora of info and for a good number of people they find treatments that work. As far as amusement parks, there is a certain chain that is quite accomidating to ICers. We are all here for you.
Hugs and welcome,

The Patient Handbook (link at the top of this page) has a great deal of helpful information, including a list of foods that are usually okay for ICers. It makes it tough when all you have is a list of "don'ts" --- you may be able to look at the diet with different eyes if you concentrate more on the things you can have.
Warm hugs,
Donna
