hey i can't have tomatoes or cheese, but i really want pizza so bad. i was just wondering if any one had any ideas on a pizza recipe that might work? i know its a long shot but i thought it might be worth it to ask.
also i forgot to ask..are we allowed to have ice cream? i know that i can have forzen yogurt but i havent found anything about ice cream...(i am still learning what i can and cant have)

I make my own pizzas at homw by using spelt torilla bread from whole foods. I baste a little olive oil on it and then spread a little mince garlic on it. i spread fresh spinach all over it and put mushrooms and fresh mozz cheese on top . bake it for about 15 mins, until it gets a little brown. i cut it into fourths and like it . as far as ice cream, they say try vanilla. everyone is different though. i usually get vanilla with maybe something like cookie dough in it. sometimes i cant help it. good luck

I make mine as well, I can use the pillsbury bag of pizza crust, brush with olive oil, any white cheese combo, I like mozzerella and a few sprinkles of fresh parmesan cheese, a little garlic salt and Roma tomatoes (just a few cubes) and bake to the directions on the crust bag. I can eat this with no problem at all. You can use any fresh veggie your bladder will tolerate. I myself can get away with a small amount of roma or even yellow tomatoes.

We order pizza with no red sauce. If I'm careful what kind, I do fine with it. And my family prefers it without tomato sauce now too. When I make it at home, I make a simple flour, milk, yeast crust and use white cheese.

Lean Cuisine makes a spinach and mushroom pizza meal that doesn't have any red sauce. I tolerate it well.

The California Pizza Kitchen restaurant also has a white pizza with spinach and garlic that has no tomatoes. It's delicious! They also sell the frozen version at grocery stores.

how about Taffy Apple Pizza??
I just made it and it is mmmmm-good!!! (its from pampered chef)
Its sugar cookie base with peanut butter/cream cheese mixture, slice of granny smith apple and caramel drizzled on top.

I just wanted to let you know to that some ICers can eat home grown tomotoes that are pesticide free. (I can.) I grow my own and have no probems eating them. I can my own food from the garden and can my own spaghetti sauces to use throughout the year. I also can several other things as well. You might try buying some from a farmers mkt and see if you can eat them. If so, it might be worth it to you to go back and get enough to can your own sauces too. Just a thought! Not sure if this will help. A while ago, there was a thread about tomato sauce and someone added a post about a low-acid red sauce that they had found. I cut and pasted that post and some other information I found below. I haven't tried it myself, though.

I really love all the ideas for white pizzas that were just posted in this thread--thanks everyone! In fact, I'm starting to like white pizza better than pizza with red sauce. But, I thought I'd pass this on too (maybe it would work ok if you took prelief with it? maybe this is something I should ask about on the prelief board since it looks like the same company makes both products?).

I stumbled onto a brand of "acid reduced" spaghetti sauce that is really quite good. The brand name is "D'gesta", and it claims to have 50% less acid than regular sauce. It states on the jar that it is "from the people who brought you Lactaid and Beano". The producer's name is AK Family Foods, Inc., of Pleasantville, NJ 08232, and their phone is 1-800-994-4711.

The price is great too...only $.99 for a 25 ounce jar! But then, I found this in a local surplus store - Ocean State Job Lot. I was skeptical at first and purchased one jar just to try...the next day I returned and bought out their supply!

Good luck in finding this or a similar product - it's nice to be able to enjoy pasta with sauce again!

Several Pizza places make "white pizza" Papa Johns and Little Caesers. It's delcious and it's never caused me a problem. There's also some toppings that I can tolerate. Sue

The little Ceaser's here does not normally make "white pizza" but I have told them I can't have tomatoes, so we order a cheese pizza, no sauce with crazy bread crust topping over it. (that's butter, gralic and parmesean cheese) I order it for chruch activities etc. now many like mine better too:)!

As far as tomatoes my daughter grew me the yellow ones. We made spaghetti sauce, mild salsa etc. Went into my Dr unfortunately in a BAD flare, the tomatoes came up and I was told "stay away form the tomatoes" some can have those YOU can not!! So other then sneaking a tiny tsp. of salsa over salad now and then, NO Tomatoes for me.:(!

If I have a smaller portion of pizza with red sauce and lots of Prelief, I can handle it. It's really hard to be a college student and NOT be able to eat pizza. So I broke down. I did flare from a slice of pizza and it was because I forgot to take a Prelief! Thank you Prelief, you make IC a bit easier on this college student!

I make a simple french bread pizza. Cut a loaf of French bread lengthways, remove the doughy bread, leaving the crust, butter slightly and toast under the broiler. In a pan put mushrooms (I like ****aki, and Brown), onion and cook until carmelized. If you like, add rosemary or other spices to the mix. Remove, fill the French bread shells, top with a ton of cheese and melt under cheese under broiler and enjoy.

I make pizza with Trader Joe's plain pizza dough or a locally made "naan" (Indian bread, I've been lucky enough to find one without onion or preservatives). I spread pesto on it (Armanino's brand - Safeway freezer case), load it with vegetables (red bell pepper, mushrooms, broccoli), & cover that with mozzarella cheese. Yum.

We make our own crust at home. Instead of sauce I use garlic infused olive oil. Then I top with veggies or meat and Veganrella cheese since I'm allergic to milk. Very Yummy!

HI! I live in Houston and we have CiCi's restaurants here. They make great pizza that I can eat. Instead of tomato sauce they use Alfredo cause and white cheese. I get either thier spinach pizza or veggie pizza and they are SO good. I've made them at home with homemade crusts and it worked out great! Roxie

My son works at Papa Johns, and if I want a pizza, I can tolerate a little bit of the sauce, and some of the toppings, so he makes it himself and brings it home. Had one the other night, and it was good, before that, I can't remember when was the last time I had one!)

I've been making and ordering no sauce pizza forever and now my family likes my no sauce pizza better too. We did the 3/$5ea the other night and "my" pizza was the first one gone. Now I'm going to start ordering 2 w/o sauce. Can you imagine life w/o pizza??

I make a chicken pizza that my family loves
I use those crusts in a bag that you buy in the deli section that starts with a B and I can't think of the name of them but there are two crusts in the bag. I am buying some tomorrow so I will get back to you with the name of them. I spread a little olive oil on them. I buy some alfredo sauce and use that as my sauce and I cut up chicken breasts and cook them in some olive oil in any IC friendly spices that you can tolerate. I saute fresh mushrooms, add fresh red or yellow peppers because I do not care for green peppers, top with fresh mozerella cheese and bake for about 20 - 25 minutes at 350 and we love it. It is late, I am flaring and I think my spelling is horrible, hopefully you understand what I just typed for the recipe. You can add any other veggies that you like.

I have also found one pizza place here that I can tolerate their pizza on occassion but I request very little sauce and they do like I ask and it is very good.

I make my own pizza with Jiffy pizza crust mix ( the only mix I tolerate) and Ragu Alfredo sauce. I put the crust in a rectangular glass pan for a deep dish style pizza. I then add some of the sauce and mozarella cheese. I sometimes use chopped chicken, spinanch, brocolli or bacon for toppings. I buy the bacon from Whole Foods so it is nitrate/nitrite free. My children like this version even though I make them a traditional tomato sauce pizza when I make mine.
There is a brand, I think it is California Pizza Kitchen, that makes a white pizza. It has mozarella cheese and spinach. My children also like this version so it is not like I am buying something special for me to eat.

Me Too! I really miss pizza. My husband and kids still eat it occasionally but I usually eat some thing more IC friendly if we are at home. They are trying eat things that are within the IC diet. This disaese is also hard husbands and kids of the IC patient.

I purchased and used a boboli pizza crust, drizzled it with olive oil, crushed garlic, oregano, sprinkled shredded mozzarella cheese, sprinkled with parm from the can and then sprinkled broccoli on top. Threw it in the oven till bubbly and it was wonderful! I didnt have any problems at all from it. I also ordered white pizza with broccoli from my local pizzeria, they delivered it to my door and I had no problems.

I buy a dough from my local bakery (we have Publix grocery). Any frozen dough will do. You MUST (to make it easy and even cooked) buy a pizza stone (follow directions on use).

To keep dough from sticking sprinken with corn meal. Spread out the dough.

Basil White Pizza

drizzle with olive oil
Mince up garlic clove and sprinkle evenly
Finely cut about a teaspoon of fresh basil (dried is OK just use more). Sprinkle evenly
Get a block of whole mozzerella cheese (or already sliced). Some have vinegar so read packages. I can't eat vinegar but do tolerate the kind with vinegar -- it must be really minimal. Sargento does make a sliced mozzerella with no vinegar though. Slice the cheese thin and lay it on the pizza next to each other (not much overlap).
Dash with salt and pepper.
Bake according to pizza stone directions.

Traditional White Pizza

Drizzle lightly with olive oil
Mix about half a small (8 oz?) container of ricotta cheese with dried basil, dried parsley, garlic powder, garlic salt, salt and pepper to taste.
Spread on pizza.
Cover lightly with mozzerella as described in above recipe.
NOTE: You can also put the minced garlic on before the cheese mix for extra kick.
Bake according to pizza stone directions.
