I hear a lot about Desert Havest Aloe helping with IC, but I'm not really sure what makes it different from straight-up, regular aloe. Does anyone know the effect of regular aloe on an IC bladder?
I'm asking because I'm considering growing aloe and putting it into capsules myself. Actually, my original plan was to eat it. It's kind of a funny story...
So, I was at my boyfriend's house, and I was telling him about aloe and how I was thinking of trying it for my IC. He said that he had an aloe plant, so I asked if I could eat it. He said it sounded like a really bad idea, but broke off a piece of the plant anyway. Well, I put a tiny chunk of aloe in my mouth, and barely choked it down. Then I screamed "IS THIS POISON?" and he started cracking up. I got some brownies from the fridge and managed to eat the rest by putting a tiny chunk of aloe in my mouth, immediately followed by a large chunk of brownie. I can honestly not remember the last time I tasted anything so foul.
Moral of the story: do not eat aloe :lmao:
Anyway, if I decide to take aloe in capsule form, would I be able to do it myself, or would I have to buy it from the store? It seems to me that it would be cheaper if I could do it myself, like I did with the dandelion thing, but I dunno if it's possible with aloe...?
