After a long year of doctors and tests... at least I now know what I have. IC. I'm ****** off about it! (Pun intended!) Diagnosed about a month ago. Flare ups that knocked me to my knees has made me a wee bit afraid to eat. Blueberries and Cheerios are my "happy" foods! Following the IC diet. Joined the ICA. <shaking my head> Rather be at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) since I wanted to pursue my passion, Pastry Chef. Anyone else see the irony? sigh Thanks for being here. The information and support are priceless. I've been down, now I'm taking charge! I am not a disease! Just got to learn to figure out what works for me!

Meds to be continued.....
Thanks,
Laura

Hi Laura, and welcome!

Keeping a good sense of humor and a positive attitude certainly help! Good luck with the elimination diet. It seems a bit tough at first, but once you get it all figured out, it is so worth it.

Go for your Pastry Chef dreams--maybe you can make us all some IC friendly treats!!! ;)

Hugs,
Jess

The diet information in the Patient Handbook at http://www.ic-network.com/handbook should help you with diet.

Once you get used to it, it gets easier.

Donna

:welcome: Laura!

You've come to the right place for lots of support and caring. It does get easier with time. Stick with the diet as it's probably the number one thing that helps most of us with IC.
