MsBigFulton:
I live in Cordova, TN, a suburb of Memphis, TN. Wanted to say hi, and ask if you have found a regimen that helps you. I have had I.C. for about five years. I had my first hydro about two months ago, and have not noticed any improvement. I'm trying DMSO again, but so far I seem stuck in about the same place. My husband and I were in Nashville last weekend at the Nashboro Village Tennis Center, participating in a Super Seniors (60 and over) state tennis tournament. Good luck,

Hi, I'v suffered with ic for over a year now and I can't find a Dr who understands when I say I hurt, I burn, I feel like some one has stuck a hot poker up me. I would like to find a Dr. who understands ic really understands. I'm tired of being told "take these antibotics and we'll do another culture in 14 days. I buy pain meds on the streets now . I know that it is not good but hell I hurt ...............................

I completely agree with you it is hard to find a good urologist. If you ask for pain meds they think that you are a drug seeker and that really sucks. ICers have to suffer just because some people abuse pain meds. I think they should give us what ever we know will make us comfortable and if we get addicted then they can worry about it when they find a cure for this horrible disease. I don't know about the rest of you but if they could find a cure I would be the first one in line. Then if I was addicted to pain meds they could send me straight to rehab and take care of that problem. Most studies show that people with chronic pain don't get the same effect of pain meds as do people who take them to get high so that should be enough to make drs. look at things a little different. Why make people suffer to the point that sucide starts to look like the only option they have for pain relieve. At least cancer patients can get meds and their is a end in sight for their suffering. I am not knocking people with terimnal illnesses because they should have access to whatever they need to make them comfortable that is the only compassionate thing to do. Urologist need to get more educated on how to better manage pain. Well enough of me jabbering. This is just a very touchy spot with me. It just really sends me sideways when the urologist will say try taking Advil, Aspirin or Tylenol if that worked I don't think we would need to see them at all. I know for me who has no insurance would much rather buy $5.00 over the counter product instead of spending over $100.00 a visit for something that is not hardly going to work.
