I bought a box of this today. Has anyone had any problems with side effects from it? It says to take 2 each time but I only took one until I see how I do. It says to only take it for 2 days. Does anyone take it 24/7 and has anyone had good luck with it? There was another kind (that was a lot cheaper) that had a pain reliever in it but it had warnings on it and that could only be taken for 3 days. Will be taking the box when I go to the doctor to see what he says but wondering how others have done with this. :hmm:

Many of us take OTC pyridium products like Azo for more than 3 days but you should ask the advice of your doctor before taking it longer. I dont take it every day anymore, but with flares and extremely painful days I do take it around the clock as needed.
The studies are controversial regarding liver damage, etc...but, like I said, check with your doctor to be on the safe side.

I thought it was something that is taken all the time forever. With this one I did not have the dizzy problem like the perscription one. Will ask my uro about it and see. I only took 1 at a time instead of 2 but I did notice for about 1 hour after I took it the bladder didn't seem so irratated until after I went to the bathroom. At least I have a very bright orangish-yellowish pee. :smile tee Something different.

NO. Pyridium is not something you should take too often too long. Uristat and AZO standard are non presciption forms of pyridium. Sandy is right here.
bladder got more irritated after you went to the bathroom? Maybe your muscles are getting tight .........you may want to try some self helps of PFD for that. :grouphug:
Hope you find a path to relief that doesn't harm you!!!:grouphug:

I must have read things wrong. Read somewhere that taking the over the counter one all the time was fine. Thanks for informing about. Muscles there are fine. I went to physical therapy a long time ago and they are not tight. Things get worse when what few things do help wear off. Once I pee after the heparin is done it starts to get worse again. The thing I don't understand is the inside of the bladder looks great so how can that be but then uro said the IC is "inside" the bladder wall.
