Frustrated

I was diagnosed with IC a month ago. After making some major changes with my diet and having my cysto with hydrodilation I was felling much better and hopeful of the future. Last Monday, I recieved my first DMSO instillation and have been in pain ever since. I thought this was widely used and supposed to help me not hurt me. I am in constant pain. I feel so depressed. All I do lately is lay on the couch with an ice pack between my legs and cry. My husband is so suppportive which has really helped. But I'm 22-I'm supposed to be healthy not sick all the time. I am in my last year of nursing school-but how can I take care of others when I can't even take care of me? Please, can anyone offer advice on treatment options or something to help with the pain. I am miserable.

Have you spoken to your doctor's office about your post DMSO pain? You could maybe take some AZO Standard to coat your bladder it is over the counter. Or pyridium if you have a prescription. I have never had DMSO instillations, only heparin. But the first few heparin instills I had were very painful for a few days afterward and then I would get some relief. How long has it been since your instillation?

I hope you get some relief soon! The AZO should help and maybe a heating pad.
