How many of you couldn't make it to the restroom??? I don't usually have a leakeage problem when it comes to my IC. I know that I cannot hold it for a long time because of my small bladder. One day, I was driving, and suddenly I had to go to a restroom. So I tried to find a place that I can pee, unfortunately, I couldn't make it in time. It was really embarrassing. I started to think maybe I need to wear pads just in case " accident" happens again.
Do you usually wear pads for accidents??? I really don't want to, but maybe I should....

I have actually only had one experience where I lost complete control of my bladder and it was during the night. Funny thing is, I didn't even know it until I woke in wet sheets the next morning. I was horribly embarrassed though as my husband was asleep next to me.
I do have a leakage problem that I attribute to spasms. My doctor put me on Vesicare 3 months ago and it definetly helped with urge and frequency but did little for leakage. He increased my dosage to 10 mg and the leakage did stop for 3 days. However, it came back (no suprise!). I still wear pantyliners that I change several times a day to stay dry.

I wear panty liners all the time. I have a constatnt leakage. Because of this leakage I also almost always have sores in my private area. Not a whole lot of fun but If I don't and I sneeze there goes the dry pants.

I am so sorry about what you three go through....I have never experienced it but I do know that when my infection gets mad I have these dreams that I dream of peeing of water and I'm so scared about peeing on the bed.
Sometimes I feel like I did pee and feeling like I could pee if I move too quickly or if I cough or laugh too hard. But this is because of the infection getting really bad and my bladders swelling. It's a horrible feeling though.
Sunflower - In response to your question, I know someone who did wear pads because she couldnt hold it in the car. However she is now using TENS, taking elmiron and one other medication I'm not sure of.
Are you taking any medication for incontience?

Never happened to me (yet). I actually get the opposite where, when I've been holding it more than I can take, it retains so it wont come out until I message the opening of the urethra

My most embarassing moment was when we were flying from Philly to Miami. I had on a pair of "overnite" super thick Depends. Half way to Miami I felt myself leak. We were sitting in first class, when we got up to deboard I saw that I had left a big wet stain on the seat! I folded the blanket to hide it and tied my jacket around my waist to cover my wet skirt. Hubby put me in a wheel chair, took me down to the shops and bought me a new pair of slacks. I had dry underwear and panty liners in my carry on. Thank God I don't have that problem anymore with a supra pubic cath. Harriet

If I had a quarter for every time that has happened to me, I'd be rich right now. I go through spells where I have 0-0 seconds to get to a washroom and that is when I have the most troubles. Yes it is embarassing, beyond embarassing, I can't explain the feeling, so during those times I pretty much stick close to home.

I am so sorry...and what is super pubic cath?
Christine I'm sorry too, that is dangerous and scary....
Question to all those who leak - Is wearing a cath to prevent leakage difficult or just even more embrassing?
