Hi All
I've just started on CystoProtek and wanted to hear some success stories. Has anyone had any success at all from this product? Does it help with frequency and urgency? Thanks, Danielle

This is has helped with the burning and frequency as well. In the beginning I took 6 tablets a day and then after 6 months down to 4 pills. Hope you have good luck with too. :)

Hi Sandi and Waterflow
Can I please ask how long it took before you noticed a difference?

Danii, I started feeling results at about 2 mo's. They say it could take 3 to 4, but I was watching what I ate, so that may have helped, too.

I took Cystoprotek for 4 days then stoppend.
I read it gives stomach pain to many people.
I froze the pills it and didn't have stomach pain but I stopped anyway b/c I'm taking Elmiron too and didn't want to abuse my stomach. I think I'll try it again since I hear good results with it and the ingredients make sense.
Any of you take Cystoportek and Elmiron at the same time?

I'm taking Elmiron and Cystoprotek at the same time. I've been on Elmiron for 6 months and on Cystoprotek for about 5 days now. I haven't had bad side effects from any. The Elmiron hasn't really kicked in yet and I don't think I'll see a difference from the Cystoprotek for a little while.

I take both also. I started taking elmiron 9/11/05 (100 mg. 3 x a day) and began the cytoprotek 4/22/06 (4 pills a day as recommended by the manufacturer) now I take 2 pills a day. I feel like wonder woman! ( Not really,) but I have always wanted to say that... I feel like I did before any of this happened.
In the beginning I felt miserable. I never thought I would recover. So there is hope.

Wow that's good to know. I hope these products help me the same way they have helped you. I think the Elmiron is working, but it's in a very slow and subtle way.

I've been on Cystoprotek for almost 5 months with a couple of short breaks in between, and I'm still flaring on and off everyday. Any thoughts on this?

I kept testing my urine to see if I was alkaline. I ate veggies and took calcium citrate and magnesium. I know it is very slow to heal the bladder. I felt horrible after my hydro cysto I couldn't walk, sit, or stand. I was in so much pain 24/7 no breaks. Then I began taking the elavil 50 mg and elmiron. I slowly got better. It is hard to tell if your getting better because it is so slow. I also kept reading posts on this site to keep positive.
Hope this helps

I think that Elmiron alone or Cystoprotek alone take longer to show results if any, but the combination of both could show better results and sooner.
After doing a lot of thinking and reading about Cystoprotek I finally decided to take it. I was deciding among Cysta Q (but I dodn't have any references on it), spirulina, L arginine and Cystoprotek (the winner)
There's a good article by Dr Theodoridis in this network.
I got the Cystoproteck bottle almots a month ago. I'll start taking it but I'll take a lower dosis than what is recomemded since I have stomach issues. I'll definitely freeze it.
(Note: I'm on Elmiron since March - 4 months now)
I hope I can tolerate these 2 meds!

I also had a yeast problem too. It felt like my bladder was itching inside at times (weird). So I took diflucan which seemed to help my bladder. I have been taking it about once a month and drinking kefir probotic drink.

Has anyone had a reaction to Elmiron? I was on it for 24days and then my throat got very red and irritated and I had a slight headache and itchy feeling in my scalp and around my eyes? I am so discouraged I had to stop using it.

You did not have any side effects from the Cystoprotek? I have it in the cabinet and have just not had the nerve to try it for fear of side effects or a worse flare. I keep thinking I will give it a try next week.

Swarr,
How long did you have to take elmiron and cytoprotek to improve enough to stop. How long is remission? Have you ever been in remission before? Thanks, PV

I took it for about 2 years as I can remember. I thought i would always be in pain. But as hard as it may be to believe I'm not on anything now. I think I was about 44 or 45 when it happened. I had been having the symptoms like once every 5 years but in 2004 it was bad... I hope I never go there again, but if i do it will be blueberry juice, cystoprotek, and elmiron, evian and eating lots of green stuff..:hi:
