Panama City Beach Bound!!!

I am so excited!! 2 of my girlfriends and I are going to Panama City Beach the 2nd week of July. We are staying at a condo there. It is suppossed to be really nice, with full kitchen, separate bedroom, bunk beds in another room, living room w/ sofa sleeper, and washer and dryer. It is about 8 1/2 hours from here, so I am a little scared of the drive. But, I know it will be so much fun when we get there. There is even a massuse on site!! We are all leaving the hubbys and kids at home. I will miss mine terribly, especially my 5 yr old son, Collin. (I have never gone a whole day without seeing him, or hugging and kissing him!) So, that will be VERY hard. But, this is a once in a lifetime trip. I have never done anything like this before. So, I am going to go for it! But, I have to say, Collin DOES make me feel REALLY guilty!!! Every time anyone brings it up, he cries for at least an hour, telling me not to go, that he will miss me too bad, that he loves more than anyone in the world, that he might get boo-boos and no one would kiss them, that he might get thirsty "in the middle of the midnight", and no one would give him a drink, etc. It KILLS me!!! But, my girlfriends are adamant that we are NOT bringing the kids!!! So, he has to stay home. But, I told him I will call him a bunch every day, and bring him lots and lots of presents when I come home. I am going to try my best to have fun.

You go girl!!! LOL I just responded to your post about losing weight, now you get to "show off" and enjoy your new bod ON VACATION!! Yipee!! Good for you!! You should have a blast!! I've traveled many times with "just the girls" over the years, and it is soooooo much fun!! You can call Collin every day, even a couple of times a day....maybe you could give him your # to call you too. Go, and enjoy yourself, you'll have a GREAT TIME!!! :)

That's great Amy! Have a good time!!!!! :) I have to travel periodically for my business, and I can't take my kids :( They get bummed out too...and I do miss them, but they always do alright and end up having fun w/ my relatives that watch them (spoil them and dote on them! LOL)

:idea: Here's what I do.........I go buy one of those cheap pre-paid phones with 60 minutes on them and give it to my kids and tell them it is their "emergency line" to call me if they need me or just to say hi! They seem to really ENJOY having the "special mommy phone"........look around for specials, it didn't cost much, and I just refill the minutes when I go out of town the next time.

I always have a good time in Florida! Woo hoo!

The Gulf Coast is awesome -- I head down there every year (going to Gulf Shores in July) Have a blast and enjoy your free time, even though I know you'll miss your son. You'd be surprised at how much you realize you need the escape! I like the others' ideas about how to stay connected to him even though you'll be apart.
