I did really bad on all the gotta go meds. It was like my bladder had a pad lock on it. I tried several of these meds and they all did this. Hopefully you will have much better luck finding the right one.

Same here! I just couldn't go on those types of meds!

LOL at that pad lock analogy, Leslie! That's exactly what it was like!

Yep...same here, too. Not only did my bladder hold on to it's urine for dear life, but I also had Sahara Mouth. You know, dry mouth? Sometimes it was so bad that my tongue actually stuck to the roof of my mouth. Ouch!!!!!

I have tried ditropan 3 times and detrol LA twice and my stream was very slow. My doc thought I was crazy. So you are not the only one. I go see a different doctor on tuesday that is 2-1/2 hours away. He was listed on the ICN site as a doc who treats IC and PFDs, so be praying all goes well. I have been to so many docs over the years that have not known what they are talking about. I am hoping this one is knowledgeable. Hope you all have better bladder days. :bonk:

Detrol made my symptoms worse and as for the constipation...

Dear God, we just don't want to talk about that do we?

My urologist told me that it happens with everyone of those drugs thats why he ultrasound my bladder eveyonce in awhile, but he mentioned that detrol is the best because it doesn't require a constant flow in the blood stream thus you can take it as needed or every other or several days so you don't get the severe side effects but some relief

Both make me retain miserably.

I take Detrol LA, and it helps with the spasms. The spasms are so severe, and if I don't take it, I can not leave the house, because of the pain.

Side effects very bad: Definitely dry mouth,to the point my tongue does stick to the root of my mouth, need to drink plenty of water. Not able to sweat so it is it easy for me to get heat stroke, fatique, weak, in a short time out in the heat. My urine flow has been alway weak so I don't really see no difference in it.

If there was any possibility to get off the stuff, I'll be the first one to do it.
But people do react different to drugs and you might have different side effects. I always been sensitive to drugs, so maybe that is why I'm having alot of trouble with it. Or maybe there are more people having problems with it that we don't know.

Hope you find something that can help you without the side effects.

Detrol was what saved me. I felt better just a few days after taking it and the side effects have gone to unnoticeable. I hope that you find your treatment. It is nice to feel almost normal again.
