IC and PCOS is there a link?

I have benn diagnosed with both IC and PCOS and was wondering if anyone else had found a link between the two, i have read some articles indicating this but nothing concrete to discuss with my urology nurse at my next cystistat instillation.



any help or advice would be great

I have both IC and PCOS and I notice that when my flare-ups are at it's worst, it has something to do with hormonal fluctuations. (IE pregnancy, birth control patch, period, ovulation) I don't know that there is a definite connection, but my own theory is that hormones play a part in IC, and they for sure do with PCOS.

Just my opinion, but I think hormones, regardless of the issue weigh big in IC. I am not surprised PCOS is seemingly connected...it may be purely accidental.

I truley believe that if hormones are not a direct connection to IC, they most certainly affect it. at least for me.

I just accept the menstrual flares and don't concentrate on the other days. Even those are getting somewhat better, but I am guessing my age and estrogen levels may be a factor.

I had PCOS and IC as well. I think it is an autoimmune/hormonal thing.
