View Full Version : not pregnant, but I have a question
I'm 20 and in no way ready for a baby. I can't even have sex right now. But I've been reading some posts on C-sections and I was wondering, is it pretty much the norm with IC patients to have them? I've had IC for 4 years now so it might sound a little naive asking this, but is it possible to have a vaginal birth or just too painful? I assume it varies from woman to woman, but I'd like to know what all of your experiences have been, for future reference to me. Thanks so much!

Many IC patients have vaginal deliveries. It's much easier on the body than a surgery and the recovery period is much shorter. Usually C-sections are only done when there is a condition that won't allow vaginal delivery.

I've had IC for the majority of my life, and if my daughter hadn't been a complete breech, I would have had a vaginal delivery instead of a c-section.
