I tried to refill urised and the pharmacist said that the maker of urised stopped making it. Have anyone heard about this? I am so upset urised was helping me better than the pyrduim. I don't know what to do now.

Really? I hadn't heard anything about that. I don't use it much, except as needed, but always preferred Urised over Pyridium any day.

Walmart called me back and told me they only can give me 10 tablets, because the manufracturer stopped making them. I called my dr. and asked him if there is anything similiar he can prescribe me.

Urised made by Alcon has discontiued making this generic drug..
However
Breckenridge has picked it up. It is still available as usept, unless they happen to change the name.
I just spoke in great lengths with the pharmacist. Being a pain patient that lives on usept I could not understand why one pharmacy told me yes it is still being sold, and you are being told it is discontiued.. They told me at CVS that one company quit making the generic... but another company has picked it up and will be sold as Usept.
I just wanted to really make sure that this wasn't getting discontiued for all of us that rely on it for spasms..
Good luck on your quest of finding a store that sells it.

Well the usept I had left over says breckenridge on it . I spoke 3 pharmacies they all told me breckenridge stopped makin it. That is why walmart called me back is to told me that breckenridge stopped making it. I don't know why there pharmacies would lie. It does not make any sense.

OK, I am not to sure who is trying to fool who, but I just contacted Breckenridge. Urised has been discontiued as I stated.. But the Usept has not been, however, There is a temperoary unavailable status on them because of raw products. I asked what that was supposed to mean, and was told that there is a problem with getting the materials to make the product. As soon as they have them, then Usept will be distributed back to pharmacies. So what ever is on the shelves at this point is all that is avilable.
anyone interested in calling and checking this out there phone number is 1-800-367-3395. I did ask if it was ok to post there contact number and was told it was ok.

Interesting to find this thread now. I'm in this terrible flare, and I looked in my draw of pills and found usept. So I took one and it seems to reduce the pain about 1/2. I wonder if it is the anti-spasm part or the other part (which by the way needs the urine to be acid to be an anti-infective.) Some part of this drug is irritating (I can feel that). I wish I could just take the anti-spasm part and see if that is the part that is responsible for the pain relief. I don't want all that blue stuff or chemicals my body has to process if I don't need to. I have this huge responsibility to handle the next few days and I don't know how I can get through it. A wreck I am. PVh

I just got 45 Usept tabs filled 2 days ago... haven't had any trouble finding it, but it's such an old drug, you can't expect the name brand companies to make it forever. I prefer it too, it' doesnt stain everything.
